Horse fencing comes in many shapes and sizes, with a plethora of suitable options available.
Traditional post and rail remains a popular and attractive choice. Conventional livestock fencing can also be employed, provided that the height and mesh size are appropriate. Special equestrian meshes are available and wire mesh horse fencing is often fitted with a solid wooden top rail for improved stability and safety.
Several modern horse fencing designs have also been developed to offer safe and cost-effective alternatives. These are usually variations on the high-tensile, polymer coated wire fence.
These horse fences have an appearance that is similar to post and rail, but their flexible and lightweight construction requires fewer supporting posts and offers improved impact absorption. Unlike wooden rails, polymer coated rails are very unlikely to splinter and have no need for additional maintenance (e.g. staining or painting).
